Hi there, If you or someone you know is on their feet all day — lifting, hauling, carrying, pushing, sweating — there's a good chance they’re what we call an “Industrial Athlete.” It looks like: Physically-demanding shifts that rival intense training sessions. Working hard in gear, heat, or at high elevation.
For Industrial Athletes, even mild dehydration can blunt focus, slow reaction time, and sap muscular endurance. On the job that can mean: Slower reflexes around heavy equipment and hazards Poorer decisions under pressure Higher injury risk, since fatigued muscles strain more easily Faster fatigue that drags down a whole crew
The same pattern shows up in jobs you might not think of as sweaty. In one study of 88 on-call nurses and doctors, dehydration climbed from 36% to 48% across a single shift. The dehydrated group performed worse on cognitive tests. If you’re an Industrial Athlete, it’s worth giving this full article your attention to ensure you and your team know how to stay hydrated and safe on the job. Or if you have an Industrial Athlete in your life, send this email to them — you never know how it might help. To wrap this one up, one more PSA: Our Give A Salt campaign for Industrial Athletes launches next week. Keep an eye on your inbox — you'll have the chance to nominate an Industrial Athlete to receive free LMNT on us. Stay Salty, Robb and the LMNT Team
