In the U.S. specifically, a single Tesla vehicle avoids an average of 52 metric tons of CO2e.

This calculation is based on the integrated portfolio of Tesla products (electric vehicles, energy storage, and solar) and assumes comparative emissions baselines from equivalent internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. The "90 billion miles" equivalency is derived from standard lifecycle emissions comparisons and may vary based on regional grid electricity sources. This figure does not account for manufacturing emissions of competing vehicles or variations in driving patterns.
