Earlier this week, you got access to Patreon's new network tools. Let's put them to work, starting with Quips, the feature that helped illustrator Katy Lipscomb quadruple her community in 60 days.

What are Quips?

Short, public posts visible on Patreon's new Discovery feed for your existing fans and new audiences. Check out our interactive resources for a tutorial!

What can you Quip?

You can Quip with text, up to 10 images, or a video (up to 2 minutes).

Share snippets of what you're working on, a gem from your archive, ask the public a question, or anything that feels authentically you. The best way to figure out what resonates is to start posting and see what happens.

Other key things to know

  • Quips are always public — this is necessary to help you get discovered
  • Anyone can comment by default to help you grow, but you can always limit this to members only in your settings if needed
  • Edit, share, or delete anytime by tapping the "…" on the bottom right of your Quip

Here are some example Quips we've loved so far:

Post about adult traditions with a bowl of dehydrated orange slices.
Comic strip: person with sword startled by honking goose, falls backward.

GET STARTED

Show off your creative practice

Post a Quip for someone discovering you. Share something that showcases what makes you worth following. It could be:

  • A work in progress with a simple question ("A or B?")
  • Behind-the-scenes from your creative process
  • A piece you're proud of with a quick story
👉 Post your next Quip

See you in the feed,

Julie
