Just over two years after breaking ground on our factory, our teams have moved approximately 26 million cubic yards of dirt. We've put in place 44,000 tons of structural steel. We now have more than 5 million square feet of enclosed buildings. And later this year, we'll begin building our earliest prototype vehicles right here on site.
Every milestone we hit at our Blythewood Production Center is one worth sharing. But last week, we hit a big one.
We've officially opened the doors to our new Training Center. The Training Center is built around a simple idea: that learning should be hands-on, aligned directly with the work on the factory floor, and designed to set people up to succeed from day one. Advanced manufacturing paired with human ingenuity — that's how you build quality at scale.
The Training Center is one of the things I'm most proud of, not because of what it looks like, but because of what it represents — people.
More than 17,000 people have raised their hands to say they want to work at Scout Motors. That's not lost on me. Our responsibility is to meet that with something real — real jobs, real training, real careers. The kind of stable, meaningful work that keeps opportunity close to home for South Carolina families.
We're delivering on our promises. We've already hired more than 600 people in South Carolina, and we're well on our way to the 4,000 jobs this site will create. This Training Center is how we ensure every one of them is set up to succeed.
