Hi,
Welcome back to my Top 5 — five things worth knowing, two minutes to read. Skim what you want. Read what grabs you.
1. THE BEST FINISH LINE IN SPORTS
Yesterday I was at UTMB in France — the unofficial trail running world championships, 108 miles around Mont Blanc. Records were destroyed. But what struck me is that this is the best finish line in any sport.
The athletes turn the last corner with 300 feet to go, and as a fan you watch them change — from race face to realizing that the last 18+ hours are over, and they conquered it. Few sports let you see that moment. They're in such a deep flow state to the very end (literally until they turn that corner) that you watch them realize it at the same time they do. Then the celebration: the crowd, the chants, the Viking-like theme songs. The best finish line show in sports.
On the fueling side, what I learned is that less is more. Athletes are dropping from super high carb (120g per hour) back to a safer 90g to lower the risk of stomach upset. Nomio is the king of the hill for a performance gain. And apparently brushing your teeth (as some of the female winner did) at the aid station is a performance hack — I'm still researching that one for you.
🥦 Make your next workout easier with Nomio.
2. ABOUT THOSE GLP-1 EMAILS
Last week my inbox got a more than the usual amount of question I didn't expect: what about GLP-1s, Training, and Protein needs.
Without getting into any debate on GLP-1s, one thing is certain: if you're taking one, you need to be serious about your nutrients and protein. And I'd argue it's much more than protein — the calorie restriction means every calorie has to carry more nutrients. It's a great use case for the new Kyoku now that it has a full 30g of protein, and that is just the start.
A protein shake is, well, just a protein shake. Kyoku is a superfood shake (I know, buzzword) that lives up to it: everything from broccoli to kale, plus 30g of protein from whey isolate, whey concentrate, and collagen. It is nutrient dense, so you are getting more than just protein.
One ingredient that is also in Kyoku is PeptiStrong®, the peptide that activates M-TOR which is what triggers your body to build muscle, it is currently being studied in human clinical trials for helping people on GLP1s maintain muscle mass when they are losing weight, plus I find it helps with my workout recovery.
If you're on a GLP-1, or someone you know is, try a Kyoku Super Shake to support your daily nutrient and protein goals with 16g carbs, 30g protein, and only 210 easy digestible calories.
🥤 Try the new Kyoku Super Shake.
3. HELP ME KEEP UP
This August I've had more group rides — faster and more often — than my summer training has me in shape for. At least that's what I'm telling myself. Maybe it's just age catching up. Either way, my cheat code for keeping up is increasing my blood flow. It works. I can even forget to take it, take it that morning, and it still works.
The original Nitric Oxide needed 8 to 12 capsules in my experience — when your lips tingle, you've hit the optimal state. The relatively new, Nitric Oxide Pro, works differently: your body converts nitric oxide with bacteria in your mouth, and Pro uses some black garlic wizardry to convert more of it, for longer. Two caps, 24 hours, no timing needed. It's always working — and I'm still able to convince myself I'm keeping up (I just took my two this morning).
⚡ Try out Nitric Oxide Pro to keep up.
4. GOLD STANDARD CREATINE
Momentous just launched a new creatine called "Signature Spec." It's not a new form of creatine — it's deeper testing and sourcing. Here's the insider track on why that matters.
For years we all believed Creapure from Germany was THE gold standard and everything else was suspect. Then Creapure hit a huge shortage — everyone takes creatine now — and that forced the "other creatines" to get their game together. Like Momentous, we sourced the top monohydrates and tested them. Some (not all) tested even better for purity, heavy metals, and contaminants than the gold standard. That's not a knock on Creapure. It's proof that what matters is a brand willing to test every batch, every time.
Because here's the truth about creatine monohydrate: it's all the same molecule. What you care about is how pure it is. That's it. That's what Momentous did — and it now covers their Creatine Chews, the ones on my desk that keep me consistent every day.

5. THE ONLY STAMP I TRUST
Speaking of NSF Certified for Sport — someone asked me the other day about purity and testing, and while there are apps that claim to grade this, there's only one stamp I trust. Here's what it means, even if a sports drug test is never going to happen to you.
NSF for Sport is three tiers of verification. One: the product was made in a facility NSF has inspected. Two — the one that matters most — what the label says is in the product is actually in it, in those amounts. I've seen countless products (we won't sell them) that vary wildly from their labels, and usually the brand didn't even know. Three: no banned substances. Irrelevant to 99.9% of athletes, but it tells me the brand took sourcing seriously.
Why doesn't every brand do it? Cost — not the upfront cost, but testing every batch, forever. That's an investment I'll always make, because I want certainty that what I'm selling you is what's in the bottle.
