In 1912, Leon Leonwood Bean returned from one of his regular hunting trips with cold, damp feet and a radical idea. He decided he’d create his own boot—one that combined durable leather uppers with comfortable (and waterproof) rubber bottoms. Bean put a name to it—the Maine Hunting Shoe, eventually renamed the Bean Boot—and the rest is history. Over the next century, his Freeport, Maine-born brand, L.L.Bean, introduced one category-defining product after another, cementing itself as one of America’s foremost outdoor outfitters. It’s still family-owned and still headquartered in Maine, and we’re proud to finally carry a few of those now-famous designs.
