This week, we’re launching Find a Rancher™ by ButcherBox, a new cow share program that lets people buy a whole or half cow directly from independent, American ranchers committed to raising cattle on pasture and without antibiotics or added hormones. If you’ve read the news, there is real pressure on independent and family ranchers to sell into conventional feedlot systems when there isn’t local demand. Feedlots are something we’ve spent nearly a decade advocating against with our sourcing philosophy. This will be our new way of buying a share of a cow directly from the rancher who raised it, no feedlots in between.
