General Motors wears many metaphorical hats. It is, at once, an engineering house, a design firm, a tech juggernaut, and a manufacturing giant. And that’s not even half of it. But at the end of the day, whatever GM builds or imagines, it needs to do something.
On the racetrack last weekend, GM did a lot more than something. Cadillac secured the Manufacturer, Team and Driver titles at Petit Le Mans – Cadillac's fifth IMSA Manufacturer title since 2017. Remarkable.
Paired to Cadillac’s marquee win, Chevrolet defended its IMSA GTD Pro Manufacturer title, with a drive to sixth in class to defend its GTD PRO crown. Andrea Hidalgo, Program Manager for Corvette Racing, said the year’s success came down to consistency. Get more of the inside scoop on this tremendous weekend from Keely Bosn, Cadillac Racing’s program manager, in an interview with GM News.
In other competition news, another Chevrolet team prepares to tackle an epic 1,500-mile, 8-day off-road gauntlet called the Rebelle rally. GM’s own Savannah Theisen and Nicole McKinnon will compete in the Rebelle Rally, a grueling test of endurance and precision in their rally-tested Colorado ZR2 Bison.
Indeed, competition wins are made possible by the expertise of GM’s vast portfolio—from manufacturing, to design, to materials science and so much more—but ambition from employees like Theisen and McKinnon focuses the message. The goal at GM isn’t just to do something, but to do something great.
