A few years ago, we worked with Relwen to build a fall jacket inspired by military sleeping bags and heritage fleeces. The result—the Quilted Superfleece Jacket—combines their popular Windzip and Superfleece jackets into one versatile layer. The stretch-infused, water-resistant shell is lined with soft, high-pile fleece that’s a throwback to retro outdoor gear. This season, Relwen is offering a new popover version of the jacket, swapping out the fold-down collar for an upright one, removing one of the chest pockets, and adding stretch cuffs for a functional finish.

In the 17th century, Welsh weavers used dense, worsted sheep’s wool to create the first flannel shirts—warm, weather-resistant layers built for the wet, windy western coast. Napped on one or both sides, flannel became synonymous with softness, while being durable enough to withstand a day’s work. Over time, the fabric moved west to the U.S., becoming canonized in early logging camps and the punk-grunge movements that grew out of nearby Pacific Northwestern cities. Now, flannel shirts are an essential layer for fall, and we’ve restocked our bestselling versions just in time for colder weather: from the refined, workwear-inspired Architect to the super-soft Stretch Knit Flannel to the burly Cabin Overshirt. Three different takes on the storied fabric, in countless weights and colors, all backed by our uncompromising approach to time-tested craftsmanship.
