Happy Tuesday, Brex Community! | Odin did some interesting analysis for the best VC firms and best VC funds of all time, definitely worth a read. The visual below is highlighting the best Firms ever, based on total capital deployed and total capital returned. | | Speaking of the best VCs, we should probably put Sam Bankman-Fried in the top 10. He led the Series B of Anthropic in 2021, which gave him 14% ownership in the company and that was ultimately diluted to a 8% ownership over time. His position in Anthropic was sold when FTX collapsed as part of the bankruptcy proceedings, but if he had held on to the position, it would be worth at least $50B at the projected $1.5 Trillion valuation of the Anthropic IPO. The winners were ultimately those who bought his position though, the largest buyer was Abu Dhabi, they purchased it through an investment vehicle they created called ATIC Third International Investment Company LLC. Some of the other smaller buyers of his position were Jane Street, Fidelity and HOF. | Have a great week, | Shai Goldman | | | | Events you might see us at - subscribe here - all focused on Founders, VCs & Finance leaders: | Oct 28 - NYC - Brex Supper Club - VC Platform Edition - Apply Here | Nov 5 - SF - Brex rave - 7pm to 11pm - Apply Here | Nov - NYC - Torrisi buyout - for VC backed Founders & GPs | | | | | | | Sign up here for Brex and receive $1,250 towards Brex Travel or $750 cash | Brex is the intelligent finance platform built for speed and control.
