Fast, powerful, meticulous

A thousand adjectives could describe General Motors and its workforce, but if we were to pick three this week, they’d be: fast, powerful, and meticulous.

See how the Cadillac Formula 1® Team turns a truck full of boxes into a race car with meticulous planning. Using a GM-designed software called Race Vehicle Gateway (RVG), the team’s engineers keep painstaking records on tens of thousands of parts, allowing the team to disassemble, ship, and reassemble the car without missing a single bolt.

In the fast-and-powerful camp this week, the 2027 Chevrolet Corvette won three awards from Top Gear. Chevy’s 6.7-liter LS6 small-block won TopGear.com’s US Engine of the Year award, while the Corvette itself took home Sports Car of the Year, and the 2027 Corvette ZR1X conquered all, bringing home Supercar of the Year honors.

Finally, some investment news, from a place where speed, power, and a meticulous attention to detail coalesce: GM plans to invest big in the future of Lansing Delta Township Assembly, as the plant marks its 20th anniversary.

“Lansing’s strength starts with its people. Their skill and experience are why we continue to invest here,” said Mike Trevorrow, senior vice president, Global Manufacturing. “We’re building on what this team does well today while preparing for what customers will need in the years ahead. That means investing in our people, our facilities, and the ability to build a broad range of vehicles.”

Any way you slice it, there’s just one adjective to describe big investments in American manufacturing: awesome.
