📝 Meet the people posting Notes every day

Marketers, novelists, a running coach and a van-lifer, all posting Notes this week

We’re two weeks into the Substack Notes Sprint, and I’ll admit I missed a good chunk of it. Partway through, I had to step away to get my wisdom teeth removed (and then recover from that).

So a huge shout-out to our world-class content team, who kept the whole sprint running while I was out. And the sprint didn’t slow down while I was gone. The threads got busier, and more people joined in, so we’re now at 29 active sprinters.

If you missed the memo: from October 26 to November 9, a group of us have been posting a different kind of Note every weekday in Buffer’s Discord, and then reading the results together. It wraps up this Sunday, buyt you can still join in on all things Substack in our community.

So this issue is mostly a spotlight on the participants. Below is everyone who’s shared a Note in the sprint so far, with a line on what they write about and a link to their profile.

Meet the sprinters

29 people have posted at least one Note in the sprint so far, and for a few of them, this week’s intro was their first Note ever. I’ve grouped everyone loosely by what they write about, so you can skip to whatever you’re into.

Marketing, growth and go-to-market

  • Aiza Coronado: Writes The Glimmer Code, about behavior design, tiny asks, and the small sparks that turn “someday” into “done.”

  • Aleksei Trudov: Has spent 15 years in SEO, affiliate marketing and SaaS, and describes himself as “allergic to first-order thinking.” His newsletter is Nobody Checked.

  • Aparna Seshadri: A writer moving into marketing, digging into where content marketing ends and product marketing begins in her weekly newsletter, Marketer on Mute.

  • Ben Campbell: A marketer and dad behind Nobody Creative, a newsletter that keeps asking one question: why is this working?

  • Bernd Kuhnle: An aerospace engineer who stumbled into startups, and now helps founders grow from 1 to 10 million in ARR.

  • Carmelito: Founder of Communitygeeks, researching how AI changes what companies need from the people around their products.

  • Fani Mustofa: Spent this year running LinkedIn for executives and founders, and recently moved into appointment setting.

  • Louise Jones: Works in brand and writes messy tabs, a newsletter for everything else she has open.

  • Vanessa Williams: A content strategist on a mission to humanize tech and healthcare companies, because “to be unclear is to be unkind.”

  • Veronika Vebere: A fractional demand gen lead for B2B SaaS and AI startups, writing about go-to-market, ABM and paid media.

Work, tech and building something of your own

  • Blas: A relatively new digital project manager, sharing the tips he picks up along the way with other PMs on the same path.

  • Divya Sharma: A SaaS writer and marketer (and a poet by night) who writes Writerspause, about freelancing, “the unfiltered version.”

  • Janel J. Lewis: Writes Real Janel. Real Life., honest stories about building a business from scratch.

  • Janet Berry-Johnson, CPA: Writes about the financial side of caring for aging parents, from the hard conversations to the paperwork.

  • Jessica L. Williams: Shares tools, stories and support for anyone building a side hustle around the rest of life, over at #jesspicks.

  • Sandi White: Helps HR and ops leaders at agencies fix onboarding, approvals and handovers, in her newsletter From Friction to Flow.

  • Shiara Arauzo: A software and design engineer who builds apps, games and animations (and lately, hardware), and writes in Spanish.

  • Valentina Aguirre: Works in hiring, operations and localization, and thinks hiring processes should change more often and be more transparent.

  • Winifred: A product designer and self-titled “Techfluencer” who curates the latest tech drama from X in PD’s Corner.

Books, travel and the in-between

  • Ashley (A Lei Moment): Brings her science background to writing about clean beauty, business and creativity.

  • Bianca Breen: A YA author from Perth whose debut novel, Made of Steam and Stardust, came out in 2025. She writes Manifest.

  • Canan (Precious Adventures): Bought a van and is testing whether van life suits her, one short trip at a time, with her pets riding along.

  • David (The Carry List): One of our own (Dave works at Buffer). On Substack, he champions British bag makers and helps you build a carry setup that lasts.

  • Hailley Griffis: Also one of our own (Hailley works at Buffer). Hailley talks about the systems she uses in work and life.

  • Marc Pelerin: An online running coach helping runners set new PRs, writing Talk Running To Me.

  • Michael Dea: A writer with a marketing day job, behind The Coffeehouse Review.

  • Michael Lyon: An Oregonian living in Kigali, Rwanda, who teaches, translates, takes photos and scuba dives.

  • Rachel Griffin: A #1 New York Times bestselling author of atmospheric, magic-tinged novels. She writes Furthermore and is very fond of walking.

  • The Inner Pursuit: Short, steady Notes on growth, stillness and the in-between. Start with the one about not mistaking fear for a stop sign.

Go say hi

The best habit I’ve noticed forming this week is people replying to each other’s Notes. So if a few people on this list write about something you care about, follow them and leave a reply on their latest Note.

💬 Are you posting on Notes too (sprint or not)? Drop your profile link in the comments so other readers can find you.

What’s in my scroll

Renée is typing… is officially live! Every Tuesday for the next six weeks, Renée Shaw (who leads brand and social at tl;dv and makes some of the funniest content about the startup world) is answering one of your social media questions, only here on Substack.

In the first issue, she takes on a question from a reader called Stuck in Drafts: is it OK to post the same thing on every platform? Go have a read, and if you’ve got a question for a future issue, leave it in the comments here or under the post.

If you want to get to know Renée a bit better, her own posts are probably the best preview of the voice she brings to the column. Here’s where to find her:

  • The Unsupervised Newsletter, her own Substack

  • LinkedIn

  • TikTok

  • YouTube

  • Her website

That’s all for now!

Until next week,
