Flit is $19 once, for the first 50 licenses, and you're seeing it before X does.
StartupBase promotes Flit, a macOS app that enables dictation without requiring Swift knowledge. The app offers features like local text processing, filler stripping, and punctuation correction, with a one-time pricing model of $19. It also provides a 7-day free trial with no credit card required.

This Week in StartupBase #21
Hey everyone 👋
I shipped my first macOS app this week. I don't write Swift.
It's called Flit: dictation that runs entirely on your Mac. Hold a key, talk, let go, and finished text lands in whatever app you're in. Fillers stripped, punctuation right, "ten thirty AM" comes out as 10:30 AM every time rather than most times. Around four times faster than typing.
Nothing leaves your machine. No account, no telemetry, no server that ever sees a word. Wispr Flow screenshots your screen and sends it to their cloud for context. Flit reads the text locally, holds it for one dictation, then forgets it. Open Little Snitch and check me on that.
If you write code, this is the part worth a look. Flit indexes your open project's file and symbol names locally, so spoken identifiers come out spelled right, and it never rewords you inside a terminal or an editor, so "git log dash dash oneline" survives as git log --oneline. Cursor, VS Code, Xcode, Zed, Warp, iTerm, all of them.
The pricing is the old kind. $19 once, not $19 a month. No account to create, nothing to renew, two Macs, and the app stays yours. Seven days free first if you'd rather try it, no card.
