Add Analog Magic

For decades Pultec EQs have blown minds with how they treat any source with unparalleled musicality and tone. But what makes them so special?

It comes down to the Pultec’s unique filter interactions. Because of how passive circuitry handles frequency curves, you can make confident, broadstroke EQ moves that add analog warmth without introducing harshness or hollowing out your source.

How to Put Pultec EQs to Work

Bass & Kick Drums: Use the EQP‑1A for the classic low‑end trick. Boost and cut the exact same low frequency at the same time to get massive bottom‑end weight while clearing out low‑mid mud.

Vocals & Guitars: Dial in the important “power region” of your mix using the MEQ‑5. A subtle midrange boost paired with a targeted dip brings acoustic guitars and vocals forward with rich texture.

Cleaning Up Tracks: Use the HLF‑3C to surgically remove sub‑bass rumble or top‑end hiss with just two controls, opening up precious headroom across multi‑track sessions.

Drum Bus: Put the EQP‑1A across your drum bus. Pair a subtle low‑end lift with a gentle 10 kHz high‑frequency boost to add air and glue the entire kit into the same room.
