FOLDS OF HONOR SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT
“I just started my junior year at Texas A&M University and, after studying public health, am turning my major to nursing. The Scholarship has been a tremendous help. It allows me to focus on my studies, and I am able to take my education further than I thought I would be able to. I am committed to my studies, but I also enjoy the outdoors and spending time with my family whenever possible, camping, fishing.”
"My father initially served as an infantryman in the Army and Army National Guard after high school. Afterwards, while still a military reservist, he entered law enforcement and at 28 years old, he became the youngest sergeant in his Sheriff’s department. He retired from the Air National Guard as a Major in 2014. My dad received numerous law enforcement decorations, including the Law Enforcement Medal of Valor, Purple Heart, and the Lifesaving Medal. My dad has always shown up for me and my siblings, showing us what dedication looks like. He is my ultimate role model.”
