If you work one of these jobs, you’re an athlete
And you might need more salt than you realize.
The company promotes its hydration products to individuals with physically demanding jobs, referred to as "Industrial Athletes". It highlights the importance of staying hydrated to maintain focus, reaction time, and muscular endurance on the job. The brand also announces its upcoming "Give A Salt" campaign, which will allow nominations for Industrial Athletes to receive free LMNT products.

If you or someone you know is on their feet all day — lifting, hauling, carrying, pushing, sweating — there's a good chance they’re what we call an “Industrial Athlete.” It looks like:
Physically-demanding shifts that rival intense training sessions.
Working hard in gear, heat, or at high elevation.
Losing sodium through sweat at a high rate. For example, in hot conditions, construction workers can lose 0.3–1.5 liters of sweat every hour.
For Industrial Athletes, even mild dehydration can blunt focus, slow reaction time, and sap muscular endurance. On the job that can mean:
Slower reflexes around heavy equipment and hazards
Poorer decisions under pressure
Higher injury risk, since fatigued muscles strain more easily
Faster fatigue that drags down a whole crew
The same pattern shows up in jobs you might not think of as sweaty. In one study of 88 on-call nurses and doctors, dehydration climbed from 36% to 48% across a single shift. The dehydrated group performed worse on cognitive tests.
