After a two-year hiatus, our most requested jacket is back: The Waxed Rancher Jacket. Named after the hardwearing layers worn by cowboys and ranch hands working winters out West, it’s the toughest piece of outerwear our designers behind Flint and Tinder have ever built. It’s cut and sewn in Los Angeles from a heavyweight, 10 oz Martexinsailcloth from the historic Fairfield Textiles mill in New Jersey. Its shell is waxed on both sides for added warmth and weather resistance, and then, to further fend off the cold, the flannel lining is quilted and stuffed with insulation. Its return has been a long time coming, and now’s your chance to pick up one of the last American-made jackets of its kind.

Ballistic nylon gets its name from its original purpose: as an exceptionally durable fabric engineered to protect U.S. Airmen from shrapnel during WWII. Years later, our friends at Filson used the material as the foundation of its Dryden Collection, a lineup of lightweight and ultra-tough commuter and travel bags. Our exclusive Navy Blazer color of the bags sold out fast last year, but a limited reissue just landed. They have a classic look and are some of the toughest nylon bags we’ve ever carried—a perfect combo when you don’t want to put limits on where you’re headed.
