A Trend Not Worth Following. You've probably seen the videos: a gleaming steel or titanium board and a very satisfying chop. A chopping board with diced carrot and a chef's knife.
We beg to differ. Here's why. It's hard on your knives: metal wears down an edge fast, so you end up sharpening far more often. A dull knife is a risky knife: a dull edge takes more pressure to cut, and that's when slips happen. The shine doesn't last: ever noticed how quickly a stainless fridge loses its luster?
