Not Us. Not You.
We were freezing our butts off on a rickety chairlift on the backside of what is now Palisades Tahoe when we decided to go for it. Looking back, we were far too naive to know exactly what “it” was, but we knew what it wasn’t: staring at spreadsheets 90 hours a week for the rest of our lives.
Finding the courage to leave safe, well-paying jobs wasn't easy. But nothing worth doing ever is. A few weeks later, we quit those jobs, invested everything we had—$10K each—and vowed to bring Huckberry to life together, no matter what it took. It was hard, but, hell, Shackleton called the tiny bunks aboard his ice-stricken ship “The Ritz.” We were hungry for an adventure. And we knew we weren't alone.
Thanks for trusting us.
What started as a small shop run out of our apartments has grown into something way bigger than us—a brand that is equal parts store and source of inspiration, helping millions of guys like us suck the marrow out of life.
Looking back, those were the days. But these are the days, too.
