Are you a hybrid athlete? Here’s how to fuel like one
Take it from Feed athletes who just went 1-2-3 at HYROX Hamburg.

TheFeed promotes fueling strategies for hybrid athletes who engage in multiple types of workouts, such as lifting and running. They recommend using Energy Gel and Refuel Gel on gym and lift days, and prioritizing electrolytes with SaltStick Electrolyte Gummies and FastChews on high-volume days. TheFeed also suggests using CrampFix or Pickle Juice to prevent and treat cramps.

Feed athletes just swept the women’s Elite 15 podium at HYROX Hamburg. 🏆
Joanna Wietrzyk, Lauren Weeks, and Vivian Tafuto finished 1-2-3 in 56:10, 56:24 and 57:55. A clean sweep, all three under 58 minutes, and all three have qualified for the HYROX World Championships. Lauren and Vivian then went back out the next day and won the Elite 15 Doubles in 52:49.

Two hard efforts back to back is the hybrid fueling problem in a nutshell. If your week mixes heavy lifting, running intervals, long aerobic sessions and the occasional two-a-day, that’s you too. Lifters and runners fuel differently, and hybrids need both. Here’s how we’d handle it.
On gym and lift days, bookend the session.
Everyday Athlete covers both sides. Take the Energy Gel 10 minutes before you start: 75mg of caffeine (about a cup of coffee) plus beetroot and L-citrulline to support blood flow.
Take the Refuel Gel 10 minutes after you finish: whey protein, collagen and creatine HCl for recovery. Training twice in one day? First of all, impressive. Second of all, repeat the pairing, and watch the caffeine if the second workout is late.
On HYROX and high-volume days, prioritize electrolytes.
Nobody has time to mix a drink between stations. SaltStick Electrolyte Gummies and FastChews skip the mixing: chew a serving, sip water, keep moving.
The gummies are softer, with 60mg of sodium per two. FastChews have a little more (100mg per two) and fewer carbs. Heavy sweater? Add SaltStick Electrolyte Capsules.
On hot days and long sessions, keep a backup for cramps.
Cramps show up late, when you’re tired and deep into a session, and they don’t care how well you planned. CrampFix is built on vinegar, and we’ll be honest…it doesn’t taste great. But it works within a couple of minutes, so take a shot at the first sign of a cramp.
Pickle Juice is the old-school classic: take a shot at the first twinge, or before a long, hot day. Want both in one grab? The Anti-Cramp Pack bundles six products for prevention and relief.
Then, the daily basics.
Sessions are only half of it. The other half is what keeps you training between them, because heavy training and travel are a lot on your body, and a sick week is a lost week. Vivian and Joanna always have SwissRX products in their bags, and these are the two we’d start with.
SwissRX Vitamin D3/K2: Low vitamin D is so common among the elite athletes our Chief Medical Advisor, Dr. Kevin Sprouse, works with that he’s come to expect it. Each capsule pairs 5,000 IU of D3 with MenaQ7® PRO K2, so take one daily with a meal that has some fat.
SwissRX Total C: Made from acerola fruit, it supports normal immune function, which hard training and travel both put under extra demand. It’s also an antioxidant, and your body needs vitamin C to build collagen in tendons and ligaments, so take one capsule daily.
Consistency wins races. Pack accordingly.
