Keep tiers simple, then make them real
Great tiers are clear, distinct and sustainable
Patreon promotes building simple and effective membership tiers, starting with 1-3 options, and designing each one as a level-up with clear descriptions and prices. The company suggests starting with a $5/month tier and using the Tier Design Worksheet to plan and build tiers. Patreon offers resources, including videos and downloadable materials, to help creators get started.

Builder Tier for $5/month with exclusive media, posts, and perks.
It's Blair again from Patreon 👋
After you've determined your idea and designed your page, it's time to think about your membership tiers.
Great tiers are clear, distinct, and sustainable. Start with 1–3 options and design each one like a level-up, not just "more stuff." Build around what you already create — excitement gets people in, consistency keeps them there.
Build your tiers
When you're ready to build:
Name — it's okay to keep it simple ("Level 1" works fine)
Price — $5 is a great starting point; what you do has real value
Description — be specific (see below)
Welcome note — thank new members, recap their benefits, tell them what to do next
Remember: we've put all of the resources you need to get going in one handy spot: your Launch collection on Patreon for Creators. It has videos, downloadable resources, and examples galore.
→ Use the Tier Design Worksheet to plan, then build your tiers in Patreon.
