Patreon promotes creators to share their page with others, reframing self-promotion as inviting people to a created space. The company suggests a two-phase approach to promotion, building anticipation and then launching with a clear call to action. Patreon offers resources, including a Launch collection and 30-Day Editorial Calendar, to support creators in promoting their page.

Once your Patreon is set up, it's time to tell people about it.

Yes, it might feel awkward at first. Here's the reframe: you created this space for people. Talking about it is just letting them know they're invited.

Promote your page

Start with a clear, repeatable call to action:

"Become a member."

"Get the full version on Patreon."

Then think in two phases:

Week 1 — Build anticipation: Tease what's coming. Share a behind-the-scenes peek. Mention that something new is launching soon.

Week 2 — Launch and reinforce: Drop your first major post. Announce clearly. Follow up with reminders. Consider a limited-time join incentive.

And instead of just telling people about your Patreon, try showing them: "This week I'm sharing a behind-the-scenes look at my latest project — full version is on Patreon."

Remember: we've put all of the resources you need to get going in one handy spot: your Launch collection on Patreon for Creators. It has videos, downloadable resources, and examples galore. If you're not quite ready to launch, that's OK. Our resources move at your speed, so go ahead and dig in.

→ Write your call to action and build your launch plan in your 30-Day Editorial Calendar.
